President Prabowo Subianto attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP), held at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., United States, Thursday (02\/19). The meeting marked the official launch of the international Board of Peace mechanism as a global collaborative platform to support the stabilization of conflict areas and post-conflict recovery, particularly in Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

The inaugural meeting aimed to consolidate the commitments of member states in supporting the reconstruction of Gaza, including through potential financial and operational contributions. President Prabowo\u2019s presence at the forum underscored Indonesia\u2019s active commitment to the establishment and strengthening of the Board of Peace as an international mechanism mandated by United Nations resolutions.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed Indonesia\u2019s full support for the 20-point plan initiated by President Donald Trump as a framework toward regional stabilization and peace. President Prabowo noted that since Indonesia first examined the plan, the Government of Indonesia has conveyed its concurrence and strong commitment to actively contribute to its implementation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to ensuring its success. We understand that there will be many obstacles and various difficulties. However, we remain very optimistic under President Trump\u2019s leadership,\u201d President Prabowo stated.<\/p>\n

Indonesia also reaffirmed its support for the long-term reconstruction and stabilization agenda for Gaza, oriented toward restoring civilian life, rebuilding institutions, and upholding the rights of the Palestinian people. This position further reinforces Indonesia\u2019s consistency in promoting the vision of a Two-State Solution as a pathway toward a just and sustainable peace in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, President Donald Trump underscored the importance of international cooperation to ensure a brighter future for the people of Gaza, the Middle East region, and the global community. He described the establishment of the Board of Peace as a strategic step, noting that it brings together heads of state and influential figures from various regions who share a strong commitment to peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe work together to ensure the brighter future for the people of Gaza, the Middle East, and the entire world. I think that the Board of Peace, because it’s mostly leaders and unbelievably respected people, but mostly leaders of Middle Eastern countries, countries from all over the world, and they’ve been very generous with money also. And the United States, which I’ll say in a moment, is also very generous with money because there’s nothing more important than peace,\u201d President Trump said.<\/p>\n

The inaugural Board of Peace meeting marked an important milestone toward more structured global coordination in responding to international conflicts.
