The Government continues to pay serious attention to improve teachers\u2019 welfare in Indonesia by implementing several concrete policies.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Friday (02\/27) said that one of the Government\u2019s efforts is increasing incentives for non-tenured teachers. Although non-tenured teachers are under the authority of local governments, the Central Government provides additional incentives to them as a form of support.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom 2005 to 2025, we have been providing incentives. The amount increased to Rp400,000 during President Prabowo\u2019s administration,\u201d Teddy said.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Government also increases allowances for non-tenured teachers from Rp1.5 million to Rp2 million. This policy serves as the Government\u2019s continuous efforts to provide stronger protection and greater appreciation to teachers.<\/p>\n

The Government, he said, also improved the allowance distribution system. Previously, the funds were transferred to local governments and received by teachers every three months. Now, under the President\u2019s directive, the allowance is transferred directly to teachers\u2019 bank accounts every month.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year, the President ordered to distribute the allowance through direct bank transfer to the teachers. It has been running under the supervision of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

According to the Cabinet Secretary, all education programs in Indonesia continue to run and remain focused on students, schools, and teachers.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo education programs have been cut or discontinued.
