President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the Government\u2019s commitment to accelerate the transformation of Indonesia\u2019s national energy sector amid global dynamics that demand stronger energy resilience and independence. The Head of State stated that the Government will implement the national electrification program by developing renewable energy sources, particularly solar and geothermal ones.<\/p>\n

In his remarks at the first anniversary celebration of Danantara Indonesia, held at Wisma Danantara, on Wednesday (03\/11), the Head of State expressed his confidence that Indonesia possesses numerous alternative energy sources that can be developed to address future challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn efforts to optimize renewable energy from solar source, we will build 100 gigawatts of solar panels as quickly as possible. That is my directive and my decision, and we will prove to the world that we can move faster and more effectively in this matter,\u201d stated the Head of State.<\/p>\n

According to President Prabowo, compared with many other countries facing more difficult situation, Indonesia is fortunate to have abundant natural resources that can strengthen its national energy security. He noted that Indonesia has vast potential from various sources, including oil palm, cassava, corn, to sugarcane, which can be processed into fuel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis situation pushes us to accelerate [energy transition], we must move faster. We have many alternatives. We are confident that we can overcome these challenges. Many countries are in a far more difficult situation than we are. We have abundant oil palms. We also have sufficient cassava. We can produce fuel from corn and sugarcane. We have enormous geothermal resources, if I\u2019m not mistaken, the second-largest reserves in the world that have not been fully exploited,\u201d added the President.<\/p>\n

The President further emphasized that accelerating renewable energy development demonstrates Indonesia\u2019s determination to show the world that the nation can act quickly and effectively in addressing global challenges.<\/p>\n

Through a well-directed and sustainable energy transformation, Indonesia is expected not only to achieve energy independence but also to become an important force in the future global energy landscape. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (TCUD\/TM)<\/strong><\/p>\n
