The Government organized a public bazaar at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Saturday (03\/28) to rekindle the joyous atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri for the public.<\/p>\n

This initiative was a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s directive to ensure that the spirit of Eid al-Fitr is felt across all levels of society.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the bazaar was designed as an integrated program involving various ministries and featuring a range of activities for the public.<\/p>\n

“The President instructed us, also through Ministry of MSMEs and several other ministries, to hold a bazaar. There will also be a low-cost market, public entertainment, and children’s games,” Teddy said in a statement to the media.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy said the public bazaar was also driven by strong public enthusiasm for previous Eid events at the palace.<\/p>\n

The Government, he added, is seeking to widen access to this festive atmosphere by holding similar activities in public spaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President wants to ensure that the joy of Eid continues to be felt, so for the first time since the holiday, an event like this is being held here at Monas, in this large open area. As you can see, the Palace behind us is a palace for the people, and we hope everyone can share in the Eid celebrations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

During the event, the Government distributed 100,000 shopping coupons to the public, which could be used to purchase various basic necessities and products from small businesses.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary also said public enthusiasm was very high from the afternoon and continued to grow into the evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Regional Police Chief earlier reported that more than 100,000 people had been here since 4 p.m., and the crowd kept growing, possibly reaching around 200,000. The food portions prepared totaled 300,000, and earlier reports said they were almost gone, so the actual number was likely even higher,\u201d the Cabinet Secretary said.<\/p>\n

Going forward, the Government is open to making similar activities a regular agenda. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya emphasized the Government\u2019s commitment to continuously bringing happiness to the wider community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first time an event like this has been held, and of course the President wants it to be the best, so it will certainly become a regular agenda,\u201d the Cabinet Secretary concluded.<\/p>\n

From Monas, the message is clear. Eid is not only about celebration, but also about the enduring spirit of togetherness that can live on as long as the state and the people walk hand in hand.
