President Prabowo Subianto began his first official visit in Japan with a series of strategic agenda to strengthen the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Japan on both state level and economic cooperation. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that President Prabowo began his agenda with the Japan\u2019s Emperor Naruhito and the Crown Prince Fumihito at the Imperial Palace.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, March 30, on the first day of his visit in Japan, Mr. President met with Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince of Japan, Fumihito,\u201d said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in his press statement after accompanying President Prabowo at the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum in Tokyo, on Monday (3\/30).<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy said that during the meeting, the two sides discussed several strategic issues, including strengthened cooperation in environment, adding that one of the interesting points discussed was the effort for forest protection and environmental preservation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meeting discussed various cooperation and its enhancement between the Government of Indonesia and Japan. One of the interesting topics discussed was forest protection and environmental preservation,\u201d Cabinet Secretary Teddy added.<\/p>\n

He also said that the meeting between President Prabowo and Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito lasted for around 45 minutes and then continued with the state luncheon. Overall, the series of the President\u2019s agenda at the Imperial Palace lasted for over two hours.<\/p>\n

In addition to state agenda, President Prabowo also attended Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held from noon to evening. The forum resulted in the significant economic cooperation commitment between the two countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other interesting thing is that there was a business forum held from noon to evening. The business forum resulted in the cooperation between Indonesia and Japan, and investment from Japan\u2019s Government and private sectors to Indonesia amounting to Rp380 trillion,\u201d Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.<\/p>\n

The investment commitment reflects the stronger trust of the Japan\u2019s Government and business actors on the prospect of the Indonesia\u2019s economy.
