President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister of Japan Takaichi Sanae agree to strengthen the strategic partnership at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday (03\/31).<\/p><\/div>\n

During a bilateral meeting held at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday (03\/31), President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister of Japan Takaichi Sanae agreed to strengthen Indonesia-Japan strategic partnership and foster active roles in maintaining global stability and peace.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the two leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation to support regional stability amid ongoing global uncertainties. President Prabowo stated that Indonesia and Japan shared aligned views regarding conflict de-escalation efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe agreed that both Japan and Indonesia will exert tireless efforts to encourage all parties to deescalate [the conflict]. We are also prepared to serve as mediators if necessary and to facilitate any de-escalation effort in order to maintain peace,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

The President further noted that Indonesia-Japan strong relations are a concrete example of collaboration that contributes to regional stability. \u201cWe are deeply concerned about the current situation. Though amid these uncertainties, the excellent cooperation between Indonesia and Japan reflects a partnership that promotes and ensures stability as well as peace in our region,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In terms of development aspect, the President reaffirmed that both countries remain committed to maintain and further enhance the long-standing relations. He also expressed his appreciation for Japan\u2019s various supports for Indonesia\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very grateful that many of our young people have been granted opportunities to study in Japan across various fields. Many of our manpower are also permitted to participate in internship programs here in Japan,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Prior to the meeting, in a joint press statement, the President also showed his appreciation for the cordial welcome extended by the Japanese Government during his official visit. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Majesty Emperor of Japan, underscoring Indonesia\u2019s commitment to strengthening long-standing bilateral ties.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would also like to express my sincere appreciation for the warm welcome by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito. I reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthening the long-established and well-developed relations between Japan and Indonesia,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

Concluding his remarks, the President extended an official invitation to the Prime Minister of Japan Takaichi to pay a return visit to Indonesia. \u201cOnce again, I feel deeply honored by the Government and the people of Japan. I would like to invite Her Excellency Prime Minister of Japan Ms. Takaichi Sanae to conduct an official visit to Indonesia. We will welcome Her Excellency cordially, without a doubt,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The meeting marked a new chapter on Indonesia and Japan relations, not only as economic partners but also as two strategic powers committed to jointly promoting peace, stability, and the future of the Indo-Pacific region.
