President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism and pride over the progress of the national electric vehicle industry, particularly in capabilities of domestic production for electric buses and trucks. The Head of State views this achievement as a strategic step to strengthen national automotive industry independence based on clean energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cToday I am very pleased, very proud that now Indonesia has the capability to produce electric buses and trucks. This is very important and indeed is part of our plan. I hope that in 2028 we will mass-produce electric passenger vehicle,\u201d said the President at the inauguration of PT VKTR Sakti Industries\u2019 electric commercial vehicle assembly facility in Magelang regency, Central Java province, Thursday (04\/09).<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, the President highlighted the increased domestic production capacity, with PT VKTR Sakti Industries capable of producing 10,000 units. He added that the domestic component level (TKDN) has currently reached 40 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn a short time, perhaps two years from now it will reach 60 percent, and in two years will reach 80 percent,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The President also appreciated support from various parties, such as the Central Java and Jakarta regional governments, in promoting the use of domestic products. He expressed hope that this step will be followed by other regional governments.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that other provincial governments will support and purchase our own nation\u2019s products throughout Indonesia,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the President revealed that the Government is establishing a company to produce electric sedans as part of strengthening the national electric vehicle ecosystem. President Prabowo expressed hope that the national electric vehicle industry can produce flagship companies capable of competing at the global level.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a strengthening industrial foundation, consistent policy support, and collaboration between government and private sector, Indonesia is aspired not only to become a player but a leader in the global electric vehicle industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

This inauguration becomes a symbol of the national industry\u2019s revival, that Indonesia is capable of standing on its own feet, mastering technology, and presenting clean, efficient, and highly competitive future solutions on the world stage.
