President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (04\/16) met with Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak and high-ranking Indonesian Army (TNI AD) officers at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed progress on several strategic tasks currently being carried out by the Indonesian Army across various regions of the country.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a written statement that Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak reported significant achievements in supporting basic infrastructure development and post-disaster recovery, particularly in remote and disaster-affected areas.<\/p>\n

“During the meeting, the Army Chief of Staff reported on progress in the Army’s strategic tasks,” Cabinet Secretary said.<\/p>\n

Among the reported achievements are the rapid construction of pioneering suspension bridges. Over the past three months, the Indonesian Army has completed 300 bridges across various regions of the country.<\/p>\n

“Over the past three months, the Indonesian Army has completed 300 pioneering suspension bridges across Indonesia,” the Cabinet Secretary remarked.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary also noted that the Indonesian Army has also supported the recovery of the education sector in disaster-affected areas by renovating hundreds of schools and expanding access to clean water.<\/p>\n

“[Over the same period], renovations have also been completed for 300 schools across three provinces affected by the Sumatra disaster, along with the installation of 300 clean water drilling points at these schools,” he added.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary further underscored that the Indonesian Army is working in close coordination with other institutions, particularly Ministry of Public Works, in implementing the program.<\/p>\n

Such cross-sector collaboration, he said, is crucial to accelerating the development of public facilities, including in rural and remote areas.<\/p>\n

“The Indonesian Army and Ministry of Public Works are working together to accelerate public infrastructure development in rural and remote areas. This collaboration is also driven by local communities’ concern for the development of their regions,” said the Cabinet Secretary.<\/p>\n
