Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Rosan Roeslani briefs the press at the Presidential Palace Compound in Jakarta, on Tuesday (04\/21)<\/p><\/div>\n

President Prabowo Subianto was pushing for a more conductive national investment climate to accelerate sustainable domestic investment growth. This press statement was conveyed by Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Rosan Roeslani at the Presidential Palace Compound in Jakarta, on Tuesday (04\/21).<\/p>\n

Minister Rosan stated that investor interest in Indonesia remains high and shows a very positive trend amidst the dynamic global geopolitical situation. This optimism was reflected in the steady investment realization, with a significant increase in targets over the past decade.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the current global landscape, including war, geopolitics, and geoeconomic shifts, investor interest in Indonesia remains remarkably high. This is evident as incoming investments stay aligned with our plans, even though they have also experienced very significant growth,\u201d said Minister Rosan.<\/p>\n

The Minister further noted that President Prabowo emphasized that this momentum must be maintained and that domestic investment realization must be accelerated immediately. Therefore, the Head of State urged that the domestic investment climate remain conducive and unhindered by the inefficient regulations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must not have any regulations that could hinder us. President said that if these regulations, including the technical licensing (pertek<\/em>), stands in our way, they need to be [re-regulated],\u201d explained the Minister.<\/p>\n

Rosan further noted that to improve the investment climate, President Prabowo is also encouraging policy reforms based on international best practices. This included benchmarking against ASEAN countries and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we need to increase [the efforts]. The President mentioned earlier that [to maintain] Indonesia\u2019s investment climate, we are benchmarking against ASEAN countries, OECD regulations, and others,\u201d added Minister Rosan.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of the Government’s broader strategy to strengthen the foundations for Indonesia\u2019s long-term economic growth.
