President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the Government\u2019s commitment to accelerating national waste management during a visit to the Environmentally Oriented and Educational Integrated Waste Processing Facility (Tempat Pengelolaan Sampah Terpadu Berwawasan Lingkungan dan Edukasi<\/em> – TPST BLE) in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Tuesday (04\/28).<\/p>\n

The Head of State noted that waste management initiatives such as TPST BLE are increasingly being adopted across various regions. He stated that, based on a report from the Governor of Central Java, at least 13 regencies within the province are currently developing similar models.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the future, the central government will continue to encourage these efforts. I will allocate direct assistance to further develop, improve, and enhance their effectiveness,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

President Prabowo also welcomed the commitment of the Banyumas Regency Government, which has set a target of achieving zero waste to money<\/em> by 2028. He expressed optimism that the target can be realized through strong synergy between the central and regional governments.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue to develop all aspects of waste management, which has now become a national priority. Within the next two to three years, we must be able to bring waste under control across Indonesia,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

In addition to reviewing the waste processing system, the President highlighted innovations in the utilization of processed waste products, including the production of roof tiles, which are considered both effective and affordable. He indicated that such products could potentially be incorporated into government-funded housing renovation programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe roof tiles are quite effective and reasonably priced. This could be integrated into our housing renovation assistance budget, which currently allocates Rp20 million per unit. Of that amount, approximately Rp4 to Rp5 million could be allocated for roofing,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The President further underscored the importance of using building materials that are healthier and more aesthetically appropriate. He encouraged reducing the use of zinc roofing materials that are prone to corrosion.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorrosion can ultimately pose health risks to residents and is also visually unappealing. We aim to restore Indonesia as a truly beautiful country, that supports tourism and ensures a comfortable living environment for its people,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

This statement reflects the Government\u2019s policy direction to position waste management as a key pillar of national development, not only in addressing environmental challenges, but also in generating economic value, creating employment opportunities, and improving overall quality of life.
