President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (04\/28) inspected the Integrated Waste Treatment Facility for the Environment and Education in Banyumas regency, Central Java province, where he reviewed the end-to-end waste management process, including the use of technology to reduce waste volume and generate value-added byproducts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis facility serves as a model for many provinces and regencies, and even other countries that have come to observe it,\u201d the President told reporters after the inspection.<\/p>\n

The President added that the facility represents a breakthrough and a strong initiative in waste management.<\/p>\n

The key installations at the site include a pre-shredder, trommel screen, organic shredder, waste cleaning machine, and a conveyor system that support more efficient waste sorting and processing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis facility relies largely on locally made equipment and operates through an integrated system from household level to the regency level. I believe this is highly effective,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to managing waster, the facility also produces a range of derivative products, including plastic roof tiles, manual and injection plastic pavers, fresh maggots, kasgo<\/em>t (an organic fertilizer made from maggots\u2019 waste), and refuse-derived fuel (RDF).<\/p>\n

According to the President, the Banyumas Waste Treatment Facility exemplifies a modern transformation in waste management that prioritizes circular economy principles and helps create job opportunities for residents living around the site.<\/p>\n

This step represents the Government’s broader vision to strengthen the green economy and regional self-reliance through sustainable resource management, turning waste from a problem into an opportunity.
