President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (05\/16) inaugurated the Marsinah Museum and Shelter House in Nganjuk regency, East Java Province.<\/p>\n

Marsinah is an Indonesian National Hero renown as a champion of workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival at Anjuk Ladang Stadium, the President was welcomed by Chief of the Indonesian National Police Gen. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Military Regional Commander V\/Brawijaya Maj. Gen. Rudy Saladin, and East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto.<\/p>\n

The Head of State then proceeded directly to the inauguration site in the Maung car.<\/p>\n

During his journey, the President was greeted by cheers by people lining the streets, including schoolchildren and workers from various areas across East Java province who came to voice their support and hopes.<\/p>\n

The President was seen greeting the public several times from atop the Maung, with smiles and waves answered by enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.<\/p>\n

A worker from Pasuruan regency, East Java province, Sutaji, said that he came to greet the President and to honor Marsinah\u2019s struggle, which he regards as a symbol of Indonesian labor resistance.<\/p>\n

He added that workers\u2019 enthusiasm for the inauguration of the museum was especially strong because Marsinah holds a special place in the hearts of workers.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor today, the workers\u2019 enthusiasm to come to Marsinah’s hometown, as a national labor hero, is truly tremendous. Long live her spirit in our hearts!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sutaji also expressed his hope to the President that workers\u2019 lives will improve and become more prosperous.<\/p>\n
