President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that Indonesia is founded on the philosophical basis of Pancasila, a national consensus encompassing divinity, unity, humanity, democracy, and social justice. Under the basis, the Indonesian state leverages this spirit of mutual cooperation to protect all citizens, including its workforce.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tragic murder of Marsinah, who was killed for defending factory workers, should never take place at all because our nation is built on the philosophical foundation of Pancasila,\u201d President Prabowo said at the inauguration of the Ibu Marsinah Museum and Shelter House in Nglundo village, Sukomoro district, Nganjuk regency, East Java province, Saturday (05\/16).<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President explained that our nation’s founders have established our national principles which unify Indonesia despite its people\u2019s diverse ethnicities, religions, languages, and races.<\/p>\n

The President underscored that the principle of social justice, alongside the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, ensures that the Indonesian economy operates on a cooperative basis, where the strong support the weak.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorkers, farmers, and fishermen are all children of the nation. Leaders, politicians, and bureaucrats are merely officials and trustees who hold the mandate to lead,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

During the inauguration, the President personally observed Marsinah’s room, which has been preserved to honor her struggle and sacrifice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI witnessed her struggle, and I am deeply saddened by what occurred. A business leader harbored malicious intent simply to secure massive profits. This completely contradicts the founding principles of our Republic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the President also called on all business actors to foster the spirit of \u201cIndonesia Incorporated.\u201d From this perspective, all Indonesians are shareholders in the nation’s wealth, and the state must ensure that this wealth is enjoyed equitably by all Indonesians.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot the other way around. Leaders, officials, and elected representatives must never collude to strip citizens of their right to the collective wealth of Indonesia. This is our shared struggle,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
