In a bid to strengthen national export management, increase state revenue, and maximize the use of foreign exchange earnings from exports for Indonesia’s economy, the Government is finalizing the implementation of the export proceeds (DHE) and natural resources exports policies, under which exports of key natural resource commodities will be required to be carried out through state-owned enterprise PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI).<\/p>\n

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in his press statement stated that the Government had disseminated the policies to both domestic and foreign business associations, which gave largely positive responses.<\/p>\n

They also confirmed their readiness to collaborate with the state-owned enterprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlmost all business actors, both domestic and foreign, have welcomed the policy taken by the Government and expressed their readiness to cooperate with the enterprise established by the Government,\u201d he said, adding that the policy will take effect on June 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

The policy, he added, will be implemented in stages and evaluated during the first three months of implementation.<\/p>\n

The Government has also established an integrated monitoring mechanism through Danantara and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, enabling the monitoring system to operate automatically.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa underscored that a robust monitoring system is essential to prevent the implementing agency from becoming a monopolistic entity that disrupts the market, adding that the Government will ensure that monitoring is conducted by a cross\u2011institutional agency and will be designed more effectively than previous similar institutions, ensuring a healthy and balanced policy implementation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we want the monitoring runs effectively, we must assign representatives from the (Ministry of) Finance and other ministries in that agency,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This measure also affirmed the Government\u2019s commitment to building a more organized, transparent, and nationally oriented export system, while also strengthening the foundations of Indonesia\u2019s economy amid continuously evolving global dynamics.
