President Prabowo Subianto reiterated that a Pancasila-based economy rests on egalitarian principles and puts the welfare of the people above everything, as mandated in the 1945 Constitution.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur economy follows the blueprint set by the nation\u2019s founders, by Bung<\/em> Karno, Bung<\/em> Hatta, Bung <\/em>Syahrir, and other visionaries – as clearly outlined in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. It states that the Indonesian economy must be organized as a collective enterprise founded on the principle of kinship,\u201d the President said during a ceremony commemorating the birth of Pancasila, held at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Monday (06\/01).<\/p>\n

In line with these principles, the President also underscored the importance of empowering cooperatives as a key driver of public welfare. He also stressed the need to strengthen MSMEs and develop villages into new centers of economic growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cCooperatives must be strengthened and revitalized, as they are key instruments for reducing poverty and vulnerability. MSMEs must also be empowered, and villages should be developed into new centers of \u00a0economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is why the people must be the main drivers of development, not merely its objects, let alone its instruments,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The President also affirmed that the ultimate goal of a Pancasila-based economy is to achieve social justice for all Indonesians. He therefore stressed that economic growth must go hand in hand with equitable distribution, so that the benefits of development are shared across all segments of society, without exception.<\/p>\n

\u201cEconomic growth must be accompanied with equitable distribution. Progress must be felt by all Indonesians,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n

The Head of State also reiterated his commitment to building a national economy grounded in the values of mutual cooperation, social justice, and people\u2019s sovereignty, as envisioned by the nation\u2019s founders. He also emphasized that Indonesia\u2019s progress will only be meaningful if it is truly felt by all its people, without exception.
