President Prabowo Subianto received letters of credence from eight ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of friendly countries at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (06\/08). On the occasion, the ambassadors conveyed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Indonesia across various sectors.<\/p>\n
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia Sumadhurika Sashikala Premawardhane stated that cooperation in the cultural and educational sectors are two important pillars of bilateral relations between the two countries. She therefore expressed hope for further strengthening ties between Indonesia and Sri Lanka during her diplomatic mission in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe share a long history of bilateral relations and a long-standing friendship. I look forward to further strengthening those relations here in Indonesia,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Ambassador of the Philippines to Indonesia Christopher Baltazar Montero emphasized his hope that relations between Indonesia and the Philippines, as two major archipelagic nations, would continue to grow stronger. He noted that one of the priorities he will carry forward during his tenure would be enhancing maritime cooperation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope that we will be able to pursue deeper maritime cooperation, especially as this is also one of the priorities of the Philippines\u2019 ASEAN chairmanship this year,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Ambassador of Saint Lucia to Indonesia Menissa Rambally stated that Indonesia serves as a source of inspiration for her country as a fellow archipelagic nation. According to her, Indonesia\u2019s experience as an archipelagic state provides valuable inspiration for Saint Lucia in strengthening relations with communities across the Caribbean region.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look forward not only to work with you bilaterally, but also in the international community for a better world, a more peaceful world, and a better humanity,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n
In addition, Ambassador of Lebanon to Indonesia Salam Al Achkar highlighted the shared values upheld by Indonesia and Lebanon, particularly in maintaining harmony, diversity, and tolerance. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the bridge of friendship between Indonesia and Lebanon throughout his diplomatic assignment.<\/p>\n
