President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (06\/09) received Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal M. Tonny Harjono at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed the progress of several TNI strategic programs aimed at supporting equitable development and improving the welfare of the people across Indonesia.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President was accompanied by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Muhammad Herindra, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the meeting, the Commander and Chiefs of Staff reported on the progress of several strategic programs carried out by the TNI, including achievements that directly support equitable development and improve public welfare,” the Cabinet Secretary said in his statement.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary also noted that one of the programs under review is the initiative to provide electricity access to the people of Papua, especially in the mountainous areas.<\/p>\n

The Papua electrification initiative, led by the Indonesian Army (TNI AD), continues to show positive progress and has now reportedly reached more than 200 villages.<\/p>\n

In addition, work on the Garuda Suspension Bridge program, which connects villages in various regions of Indonesia, is also ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently, it has approached nearly 2,000 locations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary further stated that the TNI is also continuing to expand its piping and borehole well construction programs in areas with limited access to clean water.<\/p>\n

As of June 2026, these facilities have been developed at nearly 2,000 locations, providing clean water to approximately one million residents across various regions.<\/p>\n

In the field of \u200b\u200bmilitary welfare, the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) also reported on the progress of various programs aimed at improving the welfare of TNI personnel while supporting the implementation of the state\u2019s core defense mission across Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Through these programs, the TNI not only fulfills its national defense duties but also plays an active role in advancing the national development agenda.<\/p>\n
