President Prabowo attends the closing ceremony of the 2026 National Assembly of Ulamas and the Grand Conference of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), held at the Syaichona Mohammad Cholil Islamic Institute (IAI) in Bangkalan regency, East Java province, on Tuesday (06\/23).<\/p><\/div>\n

President Prabowo Subianto, on Tuesday (06\/23), reaffirmed the Government\u2019s commitment to strengthen Indonesia\u2019s national resource management and eliminate budget leaks to protect Indonesia\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2026 National Assembly of Ulamas and the Grand Conference of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), held at the Syaichona Mohammad Cholil Islamic Institute (IAI) in Bangkalan regency, East Java province, President Prabowo shared key development data with the attending Islamic religious scholars, urging them to always keep up-to-date with various developments and government policies, as they have vital role as community leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cLadies and gentlemen, I want to share these data with you because religious scholars are the leaders closest to the people. You have the right to know,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

The President then highlighted the newly inaugurated construction of 1,151 kilometers of rural and regional roads. \u201cI just inaugurated 1,151 kilometers of village and regional roads. Building 1,000 kilometers of roads cost Rp5.4 trillion. Imagine how many roads we can build with Rp20 trillion. Think of the thousands of roads, bridges, and tens of thousands of schools we could build and renovate for our people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President further said that the Government continues to work to plug budget leaks that prevent the state from maximizing its potential revenue. The President noted that this effort is one of the main priorities of the current administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much of our capital is evaporating, simply disappearing, and in the Government I lead, I am determined to do everything in my power to stop these leaks,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

The President also explained the Government\u2019s measures to regulate the management of natural resources, including reclaiming control over non-compliant oil palm plantations and shutting down unlicensed mining.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy administration has reclaimed and regained control of more than 5 million hectares of oil palm plantations that were operating illegally and in violation of regulations. We have shut down hundreds of unlicensed mines, including those established in protected forests and those that falsified reports,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

The President expressed belief that oversight of natural resources is non-negotiable given the Indonesia\u2019s sheer wealth and stated that this is not an easy task, and the key lies in the clean governance. In his view, the success of development depends heavily on the state\u2019s ability to manage its resources responsibly.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, the key is clean governance. The Government must be completely free from corruption. Corruption has no place whatsoever in the Government of the Republic of Indonesia,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s message reaffirmed that the struggle to eradicate corruption, improve the natural resource management, and strengthen national governance is part of President Prabowo\u2019s commitment to ensuring that Indonesia\u2019s national wealth really belongs to all Indonesians and must be managed well for their greatest benefits.
