President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong chaired the Leaders\u2019 Retreat between Indonesia and Singapore held at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (7\/6). The annual meeting marked a momentum for the two nations to strengthen strategic partnerships through the discussion of some priority issues and the signing of several cooperation agreements in various sectors.<\/p>\n

At a press conference following the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized the harmonious relations between Indonesia and Singapore that have developed strategically.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday is our second Leaders\u2019 Retreat. I realize that PM Lawrence Wong was the first national leader who had a state visit to Indonesia after I became the President of Indonesia,\u201d President Prabowo said.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that the meeting was held in an open, constructive, and future-oriented manner. Thus, economic partnership remains the first pillar of bilateral cooperation. According to the President, the stability and prosperity in Indonesia and Singapore are mutual interests that must be top priorities, achieved through collaboration.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meeting resulted in 26 concrete deliverables in various sectors. Among those, 18 agreements were government-to-government, and the remaining eight agreements were business-to-business. These achievements reflected the scale and the depth of our partnerships,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

The eight partnership documents that were exchanged before the two leaders include:<\/p>\n

  1. Joint Report to Leaders on Six Working Groups on Economic Bilateral Cooperation between Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Prime Minister who also served as Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Gan Kim Yong;<\/li>\n
  2. Joint Statement on Supply Chain Resilience between Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Prime Minister who also served as Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Gan Kim Yong;<\/li>\n
  3. MoU for Collaboration on Carbon Credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement between Minister of the Environment of Indonesia Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat and Deputy Prime Minister who also served as Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Gan Kim Yong;<\/li>\n
  4. Joint Update on Defense Cooperation between Minister of Defense of Indonesia Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Coordinating Minister of Public Service who also serves as Minister of Defense of Singapore Chan Chun Sing;<\/li>\n
  5. Roadmap to catalyze cross-border electricity trade Minister of Investment and Downstream of Indonesia who also serves as Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Minister for Manpower who also serves as Minister of Energy, Science, and Technology of Singapore Tan See Leng;<\/li>\n
  6. B2B MoU between Danantara \u2013 Keppel, Danantara \u2013 Singapore Energy Interconnections, and Danantara \u2013 Sembcorp \u2060between Minister of Investment and Downstream of Indonesia who also serves as Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Singapore Energy Interconnections CEO Ong Teng Koon, Managing Director, Integrated Power Business, of Keppel Infrastructure Division Bong Huey Yun Janice, and Chief Financial and Investment Officer of Sembcorp Lim Kwang Ming;<\/li>\n
  7. MoU on Strategic Digital Cooperation on Digital Infrastructure between Telkom and Economic Development Board of Singapore \u2060shown by Minister of Investment and Downstream of Indonesia who also serves as Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Managing Director of Economic Development Board Jermaine Loy;<\/li>\n
  8. MoU on Trade AI Advisor between Chairperson of Indonesia\u2019s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie and Chairperson of Singapore Business Federation Mark Lee Kean Phi.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition to the eight exchanged documents, Indonesia and Singapore also announced 18 other cooperations in various sectors, including women empowerment and child protection, research and innovation, environment, nuclear safety, health, youth and sports, financial technology, education, air connectivity, industrial area development, renewable energy, investment, as follows:<\/p>\n

    2. MoU on Research and Innovation Cooperation;<\/li>\n
    3. MoU on Bilateral Partnership for Environmental Cooperation;<\/li>\n
    4. MoU on the Exchange of Technical Information and Cooperation on Protection, Nuclear Safety, Security, and Safeguards Matters;<\/li>\n
    5. MoU on Regulatory Cooperation for Health Products and Medicines;<\/li>\n
    6. MoU on Youth and Sports Cooperation;<\/li>\n
    7. MoU on Cooperation in Financial and Technology;<\/li>\n
    8. MoU on Court-to-Court Communication on Cross-Border Insolvency and Debt Restructuring;<\/li>\n
    9. Renewal on MoU on Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building;<\/li>\n
    10. Renewal on MoU on Cooperation between National Archives;<\/li>\n
    11. Strengthen Indonesia-Singapore air connectivity cooperation;<\/li>\n
    12. Reactivation of the joint working group on education;<\/li>\n
    13. Young Farmers Development Program;<\/li>\n
    14. Strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Indonesia and Singapore;<\/li>\n
    15. Cooperation on the development of biogas into biomethanol between Pertamina Power Indonesia and CrecTech Singapore;<\/li>\n
    16. Cooperation on industrial estate development between HKI and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation;<\/li>\n
    17. Joint venture between Jababeka and SembCorp for the development of the Kendal Industrial Estate;<\/li>\n
    18. Investment partnership among SembCorp, PT Sensa, and INA for the Morowali Solar Energy Project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      In approaching the 60-year commemoration of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Singapore, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia\u2019s commitment to maintain friendship and to strengthen strategic collaboration with Singapore aimed at achieving real benefits for both countries and their people.<\/p>\n
