Indonesian farmers are benefitting from the Government\u2019s agricultural measures, with marked gains in productivity and significantly improved access to fertilizers.<\/p>\n
Abdul Mujib, a sugarcane farmer, shared his experience during the Nationwide Grand Harvest in collaboration with the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) at the Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Friday (07\/07).<\/p>\n
He noted that the agricultural system is evolving with the increasing adoption of technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past two years, the system has been coordinated and modernized. We have moved away from manual processes, for example, purchasing fertilizers now has to be done through the system,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mujib also noted that the improved system has made fertilizer distribution more targeted.<\/p>\n
\u201cFertilizer procurement has become much more targeted. Unlike before, allocations are now based on land size,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
This improvement is part of the Government\u2019s efforts to ensure fertilizer availability in support of agricultural sustainability.<\/p>\n
The benefits have also been felt by Puji Santosa, a soybean and shallot farmer who attended the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the ample supply of fertilizers, farmers feel that their needs are more than adequately met,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
In addition to ensuring supply, Puji noted that farmer support programs are crucial for improving welfare, as they enable farmers to achieve optimal harvests.<\/p>\n
\u201cPreviously, there was no support from the military, including the TNI Commander. Moreover, when prices surged, the Government would conduct market operations, limiting farmers\u2019 ability to maximize profits. Now, farmers can truly feel the benefits,\u201d Puji explained.<\/p>\n
Farmers also expressed hope that the Government\u2019s ongoing effort will continue to support agricultural advancement across the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope this progress will be felt not only by farmers in the Malang area, but also across Indonesia,\u201d Mujib said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Puji expressed hope that the Government will continue to support farmers while encouraging greater youth involvement in developing the national agricultural sector.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith his visit to East Java province, we hope he will give greater attention to farmers, especially young farmers, as they are the future of the nation,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
These farmers\u2019 testimonies illustrate that the Government\u2019s efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector are beginning to yield tangible results on the ground.<\/p>\n
