President Prabowo Subianto, on Friday (07\/17) led a simultaneous harvest at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Malang regency, East Java province. This serves as the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI)’s synergy in supporting the national food security program through the simultaneous harvest of three strategic commodities across Indonesia, namely sugarcane by the Indonesian Air Force, soybeans by the Indonesian Navy, and rice by the Indonesian Army.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, the Head of State inspected the incinerator and observed various downstream initiatives developed to increase the added value of agricultural commodities and strengthen the national industry. He was also welcomed with Beskalan Putri dance performance, before visiting several booths showcasing the TNI’s flagship programs in food security.<\/p>\n
The President then witnessed the sugarcane harvest at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base. This activity is part of the simultaneous national harvest, reflecting the TNI’s collaboration in strengthening Indonesia’s food security.<\/p>\n
In his report, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said that the simultaneous harvest was a follow-up to President Prabowo’s directive to strengthen national food security through integrated assistance by TNI of all branches.<\/p>\n
“Following up on the President’s directive, the TNI is implementing integrated assistance: the Air Force for sugarcane, the Navy for soybeans, and the Army for rice,” said the TNI Commander.<\/p>\n
He specifically said that the sugarcane harvest at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base covered 800.5 hectares of land, with an estimated yield of 72,045 tons.<\/p>\n
“The harvestable area reaches 800.5 hectares, with an estimated yield of 72,045 tons, with an average factory value of Rp720,000 per ton. Sugarcane downstream processing also produces molasses, bioethanol, industrial and pharmaceutical products, organic fertilizer, and other derivative products that increase value for the national economy,” he added.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, in his remarks, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the Integrated TNI Harvest, which was held simultaneously at 43 locations across Indonesia, adding that this activity reflects the efforts to achieve food security as a national movement involving all elements of the nation.<\/p>\n

The President also emphasized that the TNI’s involvement in supporting the food sector shows its dedication to the people. The Head of State believes that cross-sector collaboration is key to overcoming the various challenges in the society and strengthening national food security.<\/p>\n
“This demonstrates that the TNI and National Police (Polri) do not only function to guard the national defense and security, but are an inseparable part of the Indonesian people. The TNI and Polri are the children of the people. They must always be with the people, among the people. The people’s difficulties are theirs,” he stated.
