President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed that the first rank earned by newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is a mandate and a trust bestowed by the entire Indonesian people.<\/p>\n
The President delivered the statement on Wednesday (07\/22) in his remarks at the 2026 Commissioning Ceremony (Praspa) for newly commissioned officers the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom today onward, you no longer belong to yourselves or to your families, but to Indonesian nation and state. You are the rising generation entrusted with the great responsibility of defending this nation and state, and of continuing the vision of our founding fathers,\u201d the President stated.<\/p>\n
The Head of State also explained that an officer\u2019s duty is not only to safeguard state sovereignty, but also to remain present among the people. He then praised the involvement of prospective officers in disaster response on Sumatra Island as tangible form of community service.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is the true meaning of service. I am pleased that this cadre is directly involved in disaster management in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. We are the people\u2019s army and police. [Therefore,] the people’s hardships will become your hardships,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The President also reminded them that their oath was a sacred vow before God, the nation, the state, and all the people of Indonesia. He therefore urged them to uphold the values \u200b\u200bof Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cRemain loyal to Pancasila and 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Uphold your commitment to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Above all, dedicate yourselves to the people of Indonesia. Nothing should ever take precedence over the interests of our nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo Subianto also underscored that the world is changing at an increasingly rapid pace, intensifying global competition. According to him, today\u2019s threats go beyond conventional weapons, and include cyber and information warfare, narcotics trafficking, smuggling, transnational crime, and cultural infiltration aimed at weakening the nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cLadies and Gentlemen, as the rising generation, you stand at the forefront of achieving our aspirations and safeguarding Indonesia. You must master science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber infrastructure, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), foreign languages. Future officers must lead with excellence in discipline, leadership, and technological mastery,\u201d the President remarked.
