At the front yard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (7\/22), a new chapter began for young officers of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri). In the presence of President Prabowo Subianto, they pledged to dedicate themselves to the nation and state.<\/p>\n
Among the officers inaugurated at the 2026 Prasetya Perwira (Inauguration and Swearing-in) Ceremony of TNI and Polri were Calvin Tidar Sakti and Yehezkiel Bonaventura Yudaniarman. They received the Adhi Makayasa, an award for the best graduates from their respective academies.<\/p>\n
Calvin, the 2026 Adhi Makayasa recipient from the Military Academy, said that the inauguration by the President was one of the highest achievements in his life. Besides the pride in the rank on his shoulders, he grasped a profound message from the President’s directive.<\/p>\n
“The President said that the rank on our shoulders is not only a badge of honor or rank, but also a responsibility and a mandate from the people to us, the Indonesian National Defense Forces, especially the military academy,” said Calvin.<\/p>\n
This statement served as a reminder that graduation is not the end of the struggle, but instead the beginning of true service. For Calvin, the opportunity to meet and be inaugurated by President Prabowo motivated him to continue growing as a leader.<\/p>\n
“This motivates me and becomes my first step to become a great leader in the future,” he said.<\/p>\n
He also said that he received the achievement because of his parents\u2019 prayers accompanying his journey, adding that throughout his education at the Military Academy, his parents strengthened him through motivation and prayers.<\/p>\n
“My parents always prayed for me and gave me motivation. Those were the full support from my parents,” he said.<\/p>\n
Besides family support, the togetherness with his classmates was the most memorable part of his education. The rigors of education, the fatigue of training, and the various obstacles felt lighter when they were faced together.<\/p>\n
Yehezkiel Bonaventura Yudaniarman, an Adhi Makayasa recipient from Air Force Academy also shared the same feeling. After three years of education, he never expected to stand as the best graduate and be inaugurated directly by the President at the Merdeka Palace.<\/p>\n
“It is a special honor for us, a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace,” said Yehezkiel.<\/p>\n
That day was also his first time setting foot in the Palace. For Yehezkiel, the opportunity to meet and receive the inauguration directly from the President was a privilege not for everyone.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Yehezkiel was not the only one who felt this joy. His parents also witnessed the results of their son’s long journey.<\/p>\n
“It is remarkable and makes me cry. He is the first in our family serving in TNI. There is none before. It was a big struggle for him. So, we are proud, so proud we couldn’t even say anything,” said his mother.<\/p>\n
Behind the young, disciplined officer, his mother still remembers Yehezkiel as an active, restless, and inquisitive child. Almost everything he saw always sparked questions: why something happened and how it happened.<\/p>\n
“When he was little, he was very naughty, restless, always active, always asking, ‘How did that happen?’, ‘Why? Why is it like that, why?’ He asked everyone with those questions,” she recalled with a smile.<\/p>\n
For Calvin and Yehezkiel, Adhi Makayasa is more than just an award for their achievements during their education. There are parents\u2019 prayers, togetherness with comrades, discipline, and perseverance through various challenges. Now, the ranks pinned on their shoulders take them into their first step in their journey of service. It is a journey to maintain the people’s trust and give the best for Indonesia.
