Distinguished Heads of State Institutions, Speaker of the People\u2019s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) Sultan Najamudin;<\/p>\n

Distinguished Coordinating Ministers, Ministers, Heads of Agencies, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Head of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Army Chief of Staff, the Navy Chief of Staff, the Air Force Chief of Staff, Head of the State Intelligence Agency, and all members of the Red-and-White cabinet;<\/p>\n

Distinguished Commander General of the TNI Academy, Head of the Polri Education and Training Institute, Governor of the Military Academy, Governor of the Naval Academy, Governor of the Air Force Academy, and Governor of the Police Academy;<\/p>\n

Distinguished defense attach\u00e9s and police attach\u00e9s of friendly nations;
\nDistinguished parents and family members of the newly commissioned officers present here at the Merdeka Palace, and those joining us from across the country;
\nAnd, most importantly, the newly commissioned TNI-Polri officers of the Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, as people of faith, let us continue to express our gratitude to Almighty God, the Great Lord who reigns over all creation, for all the gifts, blessings, and peace that continue to be bestowed upon our nation and upon all of us, for every breath and the good health we continue to enjoy, and for His grace, allowing us the privilege to witness new generations of TNI and Polri officers being commissioned today.<\/p>\n

On this joyous occasion, on behalf of myself, the Government, and the people of Indonesia, I\u2019d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you on your official commissioning as officers of the TNI and Polri in 2026.<\/p>\n

Today is more than a ceremonial event. Today is not the finish line. This is the beginning of a lifetime of service to the nation and state. You have sworn an oath to devote yourselves, and if necessary, to sacrifice your lives, for this nation, the state, and its people.<\/p>\n

The first rank you have received today is not merely an honor. This rank is a trust bestowed by the Indonesian people, a sign of their faith in you, and a symbol of their hopes for you.<\/p>\n

From today onward, you are no longer your own. From today onward, indeed, you are no longer your families\u2019 own. You now belong to the nation and the state. You are the next generation who will shoulder the heavy responsibility of defending the nation and the state, carrying on the ideals of the nation\u2019s founders.<\/p>\n

I am proud that you have learned the most important lesson of all. To be an officer means being present when the people need you most. That is the true meaning of service. I am especially pleased that this graduating class has already served the nation through disaster relief efforts in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra provinces.<\/p>\n

We are the people\u2019s military and police. When the people suffer, you must share in their burden.<\/p>\n

Today, you have taken your oath. That oath is not merely a series of words. It is a sacred promise before Almighty God, a pledge to the nation, to the state, and to every citizen of Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Hold fast to that oath. Remain loyal to Pancasila, to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Above all, remain loyal to the Indonesian people. Never allow any interest to take precedence over the interests of the nation.<\/p>\n

The world is changing rapidly. Competition among nations is becoming increasingly fierce. Threats no longer come only in the form of conventional weapons. They also come through cyber warfare, information warfare, narcotics, smuggling, transnational crime, and efforts to weaken our nation through cultural infiltration. That is why Indonesia must be strong. We must be self-reliant, be it in food, energy, technology, defense industries, and science.<\/p>\n

As the next generation, you stand on the front lines of our national aspiration in safeguarding the nation and states. Master science and technology. Embrace artificial intelligence, cyber systems, unmanned technologies, and foreign languages. The officers of tomorrow must possess strong character, disciplined leadership, and mastery of science and technology.<\/p>\n

Ladies and gentlemen,
\nThe TNI and Polri are two institutions that are indispensable to the survival of our nation. They must be strong. They must be professional. And they must stand together in safeguarding Indonesia. Never allow narrow institutional loyalties to divide you. Integrity is an officer\u2019s greatest honor. Never abuse the authority entrusted to you. Never be tempted by corruption or misconduct. Never compromise with narcotics, gambling, or any other violation of the law. The moment you betray the people, you forfeit your honor.<\/p>\n

Always remember that you were born among the people, you were educated with the people\u2019s money. Everything you wear, from head to toe, has been provided by the people. The food you eat comes from the people. Your salary comes from the people. Therefore, dedicate your service to the people. Be their protector, their guardian, and their defender. The people do not demand perfection. They ask only that you be honest, courageous, fair, and present whenever they need you.<\/p>\n

Remember that positions are temporary, and rank will one day fade. What history remembers is your service to the nation and state.<\/p>\n

To the parents and families gathered here today, I\u2019d like to extend my deepest respect and gratitude on behalf of the Indonesian nation and people. Thank you for entrusting your sons and daughters to the service of our country. Behind every officer standing proudly today is the prayer of a mother, the steadfast support of a father, and the sacrifice of an entire family. Once again, I offer you my highest appreciation and sincere gratitude.<\/p>\n

To the newly commissioned officers of the TNI and Polri, Class of 2026, today, the people of Indonesia place the future of this nation upon your shoulders. Do not betray that trust. Fight with courage. Lead by example, for true leaders lead from the front, setting the standard through their actions. Serve with dedication, and devote yourselves wholeheartedly and sincerely. Finally, stay loyal to the nation and the state, stay devoted to the people, and stay committed to fighting for our beloved Indonesia. The nation, the state, and the people of Indonesia await your dedication and your service.<\/p>\n
