President Prabowo Subianto received a progress report on the implementation of the Mandatory B50 Program (the mandatory use of fuel oil composed of 50 percent biodiesel) and the infrastructure readiness to support the implementation of the mandatory bioethanol program from the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) (a state-owned oil and gas company), Simon A. Mantiri, in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Sunday (8\/09).<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Simon reported the progress of the implementation of the B50 program which was launched by President Prabowo in July. The program is part of the Government\u2019s efforts to strengthen national energy independence and resilience by increasing the use of domestic energy resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cPertamina\u2019s President Director reported on the progress of the implementation of the Mandatory B50 Program, which was launched by President Prabowo in July, as well as infrastructure readiness to support the implementation of the mandatory bioethanol program,\u201d said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement.<\/p>\n
In addition to discussing the national energy resilience agenda, the President also gave directives on improving the governance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). The President ordered the cutting out of organizational layers, as well as the reduction of the number of subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries within Pertamina, PLN (a state-owned electricity company), and other SOEs.<\/p>\n
