President Prabowo Subianto Friday (09\/11) arrived in New Delhi, India, for a working visit.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival at the hotel where he would stay during the visit, the President was welcomed by a number of ministers who had arrived earlier, Indonesian Embassy officials, and members of the Indonesian students and diaspora communities.<\/p>\n
For the record, the President is slated to attend the 18th<\/sup> BRICS Summit in New Delhi on 12-13 September 2026.<\/p>\n The President received a warm welcome from two Indonesian children wearing traditional attires. They greeted him and presented him with a bouquet of flowers.<\/p>\n On that occasion, the President also spoke with Indonesian students in India.<\/p>\n Hilyatu Zahra, who is pursuing a doctoral degree in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, said it was her first time meeting the President.<\/p>\n The President also expressed his appreciation and encouraged her to work hard in pursuing her degree.<\/p>\n In response, Hilyatu expressed belief that the President\u2019s participation in the 18th<\/sup> BRICS Summit would strengthen Indonesia\u2019s bilateral relations, particularly by opening opportunities for cooperation with other countries.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope that in the near future Indonesia will establish good relations with all member countries, not only through dialog, but through concrete implementation that strengthens Indonesia\u2019s position,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n A similar sentiment was expressed by Aiko, a student at Aligarh Muslim University who has been studying in India for three years.
