The Government has allocated an extra Rp20 trillion to BPJS Kesehatan, the national health insurance agency, to guarantee all claims are paid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Minister of Finance, myself, and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, last week, approved the disbursement of Rp10 trillion and an additional Rp10 trillion, totaling Rp20 trillion this year to BPJS (Kesehatan),\u201d Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said following a meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday (09\/28).<\/p>\n
Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara pointed out that the additional funds have been allocated in the 2026 State Budget, adding that BPJS Kesehatan\u2019s finances must be strengthened to ensure all hospital claims are paid regularly.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe additional funds totaled Rp20 trillion, which will be disbursed shortly to support BPJS\u2019 finances this October, within two days, and in November,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to Suahasil, the number of National Health Insurance (JKN) customers has reached 285 million, with an active participation rate of 80.6 percent. The Government will continue to improve contribution fee collection and ensure that health insurance contribution aid beneficiaries align with the Single National Socioeconomic Data (DTSEN).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe make efforts to improve BPJS contribution fee collection and improve the accuracy of contribution aid beneficiaries in accordance with the DTSEN,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, BPJS Kesehatan President Director Prihati Pujowaskito stated that contributions collected have totaled Rp118 trillion, whereas healthcare services paid amounted to Rp132 trillion. This results in a cash flow gap that needs to be addressed to ensure healthcare facilities continue receiving payments.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank the President, the Government, and the Minister for injecting us with a fund of Rp20 trillion, with Rp10 trillion to be disbursed this month and another Rp10trillion in November, before the end of the year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prihati also underscored the importance of encouraging customers to actively pay contribution fees, which is the bottom line of the health insurance\u2019s spirit, adding that the Government\u2019s financial support and participatory enhancement maintain the continuity of public healthcare service payments.
