{"id":42748,"date":"2015-12-03T10:28:07","date_gmt":"2015-12-03T03:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/?p=42748"},"modified":"2015-12-08T10:32:29","modified_gmt":"2015-12-08T03:32:29","slug":"president-jokowi-primary-weaponry-defense-system-procurement-must-be-accountable-and-transparent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/en\/president-jokowi-primary-weaponry-defense-system-procurement-must-be-accountable-and-transparent\/","title":{"rendered":"President Jokowi: Primary Weaponry Defense System Procurement Must Be Accountable and Transparent"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_42425\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42425\" class=\" wp-image-42425  \" style=\"margin: 5px;\" alt=\"Ratas Alutsista\" src=\"https:\/\/setkab.go.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Ratas-Alutsista-300x190.jpg\" width=\"230\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-42425\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Jokowi led a limited meeting on primary weaponry defense system (alutsista)\u0092s procurement, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Thursday (3\/12) afternoon<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Joko \u0093Jokowi\u0094 Widodo, accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, led a limited meeting discussing the primary weaponry defense system (alutsista) of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) at the Presidential Office, on Thursday (3\/12).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">In his remarks, President Jokowi said that in order to enhance national defense forces, Indonesia must to meet the needs of an integrated alutsista, be it in Navy, Army, an Air Forces, and in the National Police.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">According to the President, nearly all countries are now competing to improve their defense technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u0093We are also trying to establish a more solid\u00a0 posture of TNI, as well as a more comprehensive and modern TNI,\u0094 President Jokowi said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--> <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">In relations to that, President Jokowi gave 4 (four) instructions, as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Firstly, the procurement of alustista must be in line with TNI needs that was mentioned in the 2010-2014 Minimum Essential Force Document, the 2015-2019 Defense Strategic Plan (Renstra), and masterplan on defense industry developed by the Defense Industry Policy Committee (KKIP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Secondly, \u0093I must underline that the procurement process must be conducted with accountability and transparency principles,\u0094 President Jokowi firmly said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Thirdly, the procurement of alustista is implemented to materialize the Indonesia\u0092s independence of defense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Fourthly, the President added, the procurement of alustista strengthen the operational integration between intra-dimension weaponry system and this, the President said, is really important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u0093If it is not integrated, it (weaponry system) will runs separately,\u0094 President Jokowi said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The President asserted that the four instructions are related to a plan of buying VVI helicopter and probably other the main tools in Indonesia\u0092s\u00a0 weaponry system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The limited meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung,\u00a0 Minister of Defense Ryamizard Ryacudu, Indonesian Defense Forces Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo, and TNI Chief of Staffs.
