President Jokowi leads a limited meeting on the Evaluation of Economic Policy Packages, on Tuesday (24\/5) afternoon, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta<\/p><\/div>\n

The Government has to continue monitoring and evaluating all its priority programs, including economic policy packages, be it through direct inspections or overviewing the procedures, President Joko \u0091Jokowi\u0092 Widodo says.<\/p>\n

\u0093I will always check and ensure the packages are implemented effectively,\u0094 President Jokowi said at the limited meeting on Tuesday (24\/5), at the Presidential Office.<\/p>\n

Based on the Government\u0092s data, as many as 193 of 203 regulation in the 1st<\/sup> to 12th<\/sup> Economic Policy Packages have been de-regulated, the President said.<\/p>\n

\u0093It means de-regulation has been 95 percent done and there are only 10 regulations or 5 percent from the total regulations that are still under final discussions,\u0094 the President added.<\/p>\n

The de-regulation policies must bring positive psychological impact, including strengthening trust from business players, President Jokowi added.<\/p>\n

The trust must be maintained by consistently making concrete changes on the ground, he said.<\/p>\n

\u0093I want to emphasize the measures to improve the implementation of the packages must be made on the ground. The condition must really change significantly thus it will increase investment value, strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises, rejuvenate industries, and boost Indonesia\u0092s export values,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, to ensure effective implementation of all 12 Economic Policy Packages run well, President Jokowi has also instructed coordinating ministers to form a task force .<\/p>\n

\u0093I will directly lead the Task Force. I do not want obstacles on the ground because there is no monitoring on the implementation or because the de-regulation measures are not monitored\u00a0in the regions,\u0094 President Jokowi said.<\/p>\n

Also attending the limited meeting were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)\/ the Head of National Development Planning Agency Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Industry Saleh Husin, Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong, Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus Martowardojo, and Chairman of Financial Services Authority (OJK) Muliaman D.
