President Joko \u0091Jokowi\u0092 Widodo on Thursday (26\/5) has left from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, for Nagoya, Japan, to attend an outreach meeting during the G7 Summit at the invitation of the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.<\/p>\n

The President will participate in the G7 outreach meeting on Friday (27\/5), in Ise-Shima, Japan, located two hours from Nagoya.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Group of 7\u00a0(G7) is a group consisting of\u00a0Canada, France,\u00a0Germany,\u00a0Italy,\u00a0Japan, the\u00a0United Kingdom, and the\u00a0United States. These countries are the seven major advanced economies as reported by the\u00a0International Monetary Fund. The G7 countries represent more than 64% of the net global wealth ($263 trillion).<\/p>\n

The meeting is set to discuss two main issues, namely stability and prosperity in Asia as well as sustainable development, women empowerment, and global health. Indonesia\u0092s participation at the meeting is expected to contribute in addressing global issues.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi will be one of the keynote speakers in the discussion on stability and prosperity in Asia.<\/p>\n

The President is also expected to highlight the importance of global partnerships and global health coverage in the discussion on the other main issues.<\/p>\n

Besides delivering a keynote speech, President Jokowi is also scheduled to meet with French President Fran\u00e7ois Hollande, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the Summit.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi hopes Indonesia\u0092s participation in the G7 Outreach Summit will boost global partnerships to face common challenges.<\/p>\n

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, and Chief of Indonesian National Police (Polri) Gen. Badrodin Haiti attended when setting off the President and his entourage to Japan. Meanwhile, First Lady Ibu<\/em> Iriana Widodo, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) Sofyan Djalil, and Chairman of Financial Services Authority (OJK) Muliaman D. Hadad are in the Presidential entourage.<\/p>\n
