President Joko \u0091Jokowi\u0092 Widodo gave special tasks to newly appointed Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Wiranto, who replaced Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, and newly appointed Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati who replaced Bambang Brodjonegoro, during a Plenary Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday (27\/7), at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.<\/p>\n

\u0093I asked Wiranto to give presentation next week on issues relating to law reform as well as national and regional legislations; second, issues relating to national law enforcer and law enforcer reform; and third, issues relating to education and Indonesian legal culture,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n

President Jokowi also asked Wiranto to immediately formulate it so that the Government can take measures on the ground and it makes law enforcement and legal certainty in the country become clear. \u0093I think, former Coordinating Minister Luhut Pandjaitan has already initiated it; the team was already formed; thus, we only need to carry on the process,\u0094 the President added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, President Jokowi reminded Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani about issues relating to tax amnesty \u0093I want to warn Director General of Taxation and Minister of Finance that there are still many complaints about the services of tax amnesty. For example, there is no officer in service desks, and when there are officers in the tax administration offices, they cannot explain the details to the tax payers. The phone numbers of the offices are hard to reach, but I can understand because many people want to ask by phone,\u0094 the President explained.<\/p>\n

Those are points that need to be improved, the President added. \u0093I hope I can talk to the representatives of tax administration offices and regional offices on Thursday (28\/7). This program, the tax amnesty, must be successful,\u0094 the President firmly said.<\/p>\n

According to the President, tax amnesty is a big program that will improve our economy and could create a snowball effect. \u0093The momentum is right now, not later. Once again, I hope the implementation on the ground can be monitored and reported to the Minister of Finance,\u0094 President Jokowi added.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, the President also asked all related ministers to follow up the incident in Poso and abduction in the Philipinnes as well as issues relating drugs abuse.<\/p>\n

The President also instructed all to improve public services, and hopes the formulation on IT system can be prepared, so that it can be integrated among the ministers\/institutions next year, as well as among central and regional governments. Therefore, Indonesian e-government systems can be integrated.<\/p>\n

Currently, Indonesian e-government systems run separately, the President added. The ministries and regional governments buy their own IT systems. \u0093Much money has been spent but it has not been integrated. We need to fix this, be it the e-budgeting, e-audit, e-purchasing or other e-based programs. I think we need to prepare this well,\u0094 the President said.<\/p>\n
