Chairperson of the Indonesian Medical Associations (IDI) Daeng Mohammad Faqih called on the public, particularly medical workers to participate in COVID-19 free vaccination program.

The vaccination, he said, aims to build immune, prevent COVID-19 infection, and protect our medical workers during the pandemic.

“It can minimize death toll of doctors and medical workers who fall prey to COVID-19. The current figure is high, it has exceeded 500 people nationwide,” he said.

The Chairperson is among those who received the first COVID-19 jab, besides the President. He went on to say that the vaccine has gone through the series of procedures to ensure that it is safe, effective, efficacious, and halal (permissible under Islamic law).

Alhamdulillah, thank God, on Monday (11/1), the vaccine has been declared to be safe, effective, efficacious, and halal. Let us hope that the vaccination can curb COVID-19 pandemic,” he said. (FID/UN) (RAS/MUR)
