President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (16/06) inspected mass COVID-19 vaccination for workers in financial service sector held at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.

“This morning we carried out mass vaccination for workers in financial service sector attended by approximately 10,000 recipients, out of 100,000 targeted recipients this week,” the President said in the press conference after the inspection.

Mass vaccinations for workers in financial services sector were also carried out in several regional offices of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

The mass vaccination, the President pointed out, aims to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination so that herd immunity can be achieved immediately,  adding that the Government continues to take measures to accelerate vaccination progress.

“Previously [our target per day] is 500,000 [doses]. In early July it must reach 1 million per day. With this acceleration, we hope that we can reduce the spread of COVID-19,” the President said. (FID/UN) (RI/MEP)
