President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (24/2) inspected mass vaccination for teachers and educational personnel held at state senior high school SMA Negeri 70, South Jakarta, Jakarta Province.

“Today, vaccination for teachers and education personnel has started. And, I saw that the vaccination ran well,” the President said.

This occasion marked the beginning of vaccination program for teachers and educational personnel across the country.

According to the President, teachers and educational personnel are the second priority group of the COVID-19 vaccination program. “We are prioritizing teachers and educational personnel so that face-to-face learning can be started at the beginning of the second semester,” he said.

The President went on to say that the Government is aiming to vaccinate 5 million teachers and educational personnel by June.

For the record, 650 teachers and educational personnel from different educational stages received their first COVID-19 jab at SMA 70. To prevent crowds, the vaccine recipients were divided into three groups. The first group consisting of 250 people were inoculated from 08.00 to 10.00, while the second group consisting of 150 people received the injection between 10.00 to12.00. The vaccination for the third group started at 13.00 and there were 250 people who were vaccinated. (FID/UN) (RIF/MMB)
