Gov’t Steps Up Energy-Saving Measures to Strengthen National Energy Resilience

President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (03/19) discussed national energy efficiency measures with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting centered on the Government’s efforts to anticipate global geopolitical dynamics, especially in the Middle East, that could affect the stability of energy supplies and global energy prices.
According to Teddy, the President stressed the importance of taking measured anticipatory steps to safeguard national energy security amidst an increasingly dynamic global situation.
“The President discussed strategic measures for energy efficiency across multiple sectors in anticipation of geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East that could affect [energy] supply stability and global energy prices,” wrote Teddy.
Teddy further noted that the President directed energy efficiency policies to be concentrated on specific sectors that have a significant impact on national energy consumption.
“The President instructed efficiency efforts to be concentrated on several specific sectors to help maintain domestic energy stability and security,” Teddy added.
For the record, the energy efficiency measure forms part of the Government’s strategy to ensure a sustainable energy supply and uphold maintain national economic stability amidst global uncertainty. Through cross-ministerial coordination, the Government seeks to ensure that energy-saving policies are implemented effectively and in a well-targeted manner.
