Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Australian Independent School (AIS), Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan Province, September 25, 2024

Good morning,
Peace be upon us all.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,
Alhamdulillah, this morning we gather here once again to conduct a groundbreaking ceremony of an international school in the Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara Capital, the Australian Independent School Nusantara (AIS Nusantara). The AIS Nusantara campus will be built on a 7,900 square meter area and is ready to accommodate approximately 750 students, from preschool to high school.

It has been mentioned earlier that the campus has extensive facilities which meet international standards. The classrooms are also of international standards, equipped with various facilities such as a mini soccer field, tennis court, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, and an auditorium with a capacity of 250 people.

The presence of AIS Nusantara demonstrates our firm commitment to providing various world-class facilities in Nusantara Capital, including high-quality international educational institutions.

I hope that AIS, with its 28-year track record and reputation in the field of education, will truly deliver world-class education, promote high-quality global education in Nusantara, and provide quality educational options for the residents of Nusantara Capital, who come from various regions, countries, and backgrounds.

That concludes my remarks. And by saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby declare that the construction of the Australian Independent School (AIS) Nusantara officially commences.
