President Prabowo Subianto, on Wednesday (06/03), received a visit from Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor regency, West Java province.

The Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Indonesia took place at the invitation of President Prabowo. This visit represents part of the two countries’ efforts to continue strengthening communication and coordination amid various regional and global dynamics.

During the meeting, the President specifically expressed appreciation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his administration for the support and close cooperation in the repatriation process of nine Indonesians who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission. President Prabowo noted that Türkiye’s support for this humanitarian mission reflects the strong friendship between the two nations and demonstrates a shared commitment to upholding humanitarian values and international solidarity.

Amid the constructive atmosphere of the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East. Discussions covered various regional dynamics currently attracting global attention, particularly the situations in Iran and Palestine.

As fellow Global South countries, Indonesia and Türkiye share a common view on the importance of regional stability manifested through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution. Both sides then agreed to continue strengthening coordination in promoting efforts to de-escalate various conflicts in the Middle East. Furthermore, Indonesia and Türkiye also reaffirmed their shared commitment to continuing to fight for justice for the Palestinian people.

This meeting underscored the close bilateral ties between Indonesia and Türkiye, which have long been established across various fields. Amid increasingly complex global challenges, both nations have demonstrated their commitment to continuing to work together in championing global stability, peace, and humanitarian values.
