President Prabowo Awards Honorary Ranks to 11 Retired TNI Officers

President Prabowo Subianto awarded honorary military ranks to 11 retired Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) officers during the Presidential Inspection agenda held aboard the Navy hospital ship KRI dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (RJW-992) on Thursday (10/02).

The awarding is based on Presidential Number 93/TNI of 2025 on the Awarding of Ranks by Special Appointment.

President Prabowo stated that the honorary ranks are awarded to several high-ranking TNI officers who have demonstrated exceptional service and dedication throughout their military careers. The President highlighted that the awards show the state’s recognition for their contributions that go beyond the call of duty and their role in upholding the honor and sovereignty of the nation.

“Throughout their military service, they have performed exceptionally, often beyond the call of duty. I am honored today to bestow this recognition upon them,” the President said.

The President personally led the symbolic ceremony, removing the old badges and conferring the new honorary ranks on two retired officers.

The recipients of the honorary ranks are as follows:

  1. Lieutenant General (Ret.) H.B.L. Mantiri, awarded the honorary rank of General;
  2. Lieutenant General (Ret.) Bibit Waluyo, awarded the honorary rank of General;
  3. Vice Admiral (Ret.) Didit Herdiawan, awarded the honorary rank of Admiral;
  4. Vice Admiral (Ret.) Achmad Taufiqoerrochman, awarded the honorary rank of Admiral;
  5. Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto, awarded the honorary rank of Air Chief Marshal;
  6. Major General (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung, awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant General;
  7. Major General (Ret.) Untung Budiharto, awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant General;
  8. Major General (Ret.) Dadang Hendrayudha, awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant General;
  9. Major General (Ret.) Surawahadi, awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant General;
  10. Air Vice Marshal (Ret.) Bonar H. Hutagaol, awarded the honorary rank of Air Marshal; and
  11. Colonel (Infantry) (Ret.) Restu Widiyantoro, MDA, awarded the honorary rank of Brigadier General.

The awarding of honorary ranks is part of the Presidential Inspection agenda to show the nation’s appreciation for the dedication of TNI personnel, both active and retired. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/MUR)
