The aircraft carrying President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Miangas island, Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi Province, Saturday (05/09), at approximately 10:45 a.m. Central Indonesia Time, as part of his visit to directly review Indonesia’s outermost territory. The presence of the Head of State on Indonesia’s northernmost island served as a tangible symbol of the Government’s commitment to ensuring that the state is present even in the farthest corners of the nation.

President Prabowo’s visit to Miangas also underscored the Government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across the country’s frontier areas. During his visit, the President was scheduled to inspect several public facilities and community-supporting infrastructure. In addition, the President was expected to engage in dialogue with local residents to hear firsthand the people’s aspirations regarding development and basic public services in the outer island region.

Miangas is not merely Indonesia’s northernmost geographical territory, but also the nation’s front porch with strategic significance for national sovereignty. The Government continues to pursue inclusive and equitable development for all Indonesians without exception.

President Prabowo’s visit to Miangas also conveyed a strong message on the importance of safeguarding national unity and sovereignty amid evolving regional dynamics. The President’s presence in the frontier region served as encouragement for border communities, who stand at the forefront of protecting the nation’s sovereignty.

By setting foot in Miangas, President Prabowo demonstrated that the Government’s attention is not solely focused on major cities, but also extends to the small islands that mark Indonesia’s northern frontier. From Miangas, President Prabowo once again strongly reaffirmed the message of a strong and united Indonesia that is present for all its people.
