President Prabowo Subianto on Monday (11/8) inaugurated four Ministers and one Vice Minister of the Red and White Cabinet for the remaining term of 2024–2029 at the State Palace, Jakarta.

During the inauguration, it was announced that Budi Gunawan, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, and Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Youth and Sports, have completed their duties as Cabinet Ministers.

In his statement after the inauguration, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the President will appoint an ad interim official to serve as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs.

“Regarding the position of Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, for the time being, the President has not yet definitively appointed the successor. Therefore, temporarily the President will appoint an ad interim official to serve as the Coordinating Minister,” Minister of State Secretary said.

The Minister further said that the official announcement of the ad interim Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs will be made after the appointment decree is signed. Minister Prasetyo also said that the new Minister of Youth and Sports was unable to attend today’s inauguration.

“Regarding the Minister of Youth and Sports, the successor is currently out of town and thus could not attend this inauguration. The inauguration will be rescheduled for the next ceremony,” he said.

Minister of State Secretary further said that the Cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the President and the decision is made after a thorough evaluation. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RI/MUR)
