President Prabowo to Inspect Flood-Hit Areas

President Prabowo Subianto on Monday morning (12/1) departed for flood-affected areas in Sumatra Island. From Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, the President departed for Raja Sisingamangaraja XII International Airport in North Tapanuli, North Sumatra province. This visit marked the Government’s swift response to disaster management.
During the visit, the President is scheduled to inspect major areas that sustain the most damage, including essential services. He will ensure that emergency protocols have been followed in accordance with the disaster response standard that is immediate, accurate, and coordinated.
The Government has prepared to restore basic infrastructure, including public roads and bridges, energy, telecommunications, and health services. Previously, President Prabowo instructed all relevant parties to act swiftly to minimize the impact of the disaster.
It is expected that the emergency response processes to be more synergistic to reassure people that the Government is responsive in handling crises. The Government also urged people to remain vigilant and follow protocols amid continued potential for extreme weather.
