Cabinet Secretary’s Team Deploys 50 Water Tankers and Essential Supplies to Flood-Hit Aceh Tamiang

After previously distributing 18 tons of humanitarian aid to disaster-affected communities in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatera, and West Sumatera, Cabinet Secretary’s team Thursday (12/18) went to Aceh Tamiang Regency to deliver additional humanitarian assistance, including logistics such as 50 clean-water tanker trucks.
“The logistic distributed this time include not only clean water but also 5,000 pieces of clothing, 2,000 sanitary pads, 4,000 pieces of underwear, 1,000 pieces of children’s toy, and ready-to-eat food such as wafers, bread, snacks, and of course milk and water, transported by a total of 60 trucks,” said Kartika, a member of the Cabinet Secretary’s team who was directly deployed to Aceh Tamiang, Friday (12/19).
Kartika stated that in accordance with the Cabinet Secretary’s directives, during their three-day deployment in the field from Thursday to Saturday, December 18-20, 2025, the Cabinet Secretary’s team must ensure that all aid is distributed to the areas most in need, namely Kota Kualasimpang, Karang Baru, and Sekerak
“This aid package is prioritized to meet the basic needs of evacuees, especially women and kids. We are very happy to be here and to directly help ease the burden of our brothers and sisters, and alhamdulillah the people of Aceh Tamiang have warmly welcomed us during our two-day stay here,” said Kartika.
Rohmah, the resident of Lubuk Sidup Village, Sekerak District, expressed her happiness and conveyed her appreciation for the aid distributed by Cabinet Secretary’s team, especially the clean water supply which is urgently needed by the residents.
“I would like to thank the Cabinet Secretary’s team from Jakarta for bringing aid to Lubuk Sidup Village, Sekerak District. Today we have received three clean water tanker trucks. Alhamdulillah, may Allah reward you,” said Rohmah.
Since the first day of flood and landslide disaster in Sumatera, Government has acted swiftly and done its best through close coordination between the central Government, regional government, Indonesian National Defense Force/Indonesian National Police, related institutions, and several community elements. The relief efforts have focused not only distributing aid and clean water, but also on restoring transportation access, organizing temporary settlement, and accelerating housing settlement for the disaster-affected residents.
Regarding provision of sanitation and clean water facilities in Aceh, the Government through Minister of Public Works has deployed more than 500 heavy equipment, portable toilet, water hydrant, and other cleaning equipment specifically for the province. This aid was distributed to eight regencies/cities, including Pidie Regecy Pidie Jaya Regency, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Tamiang Regency, Southeast Aceh Regency, Gayo Lues Regency, city of Langsa, and East Aceh Regency.
