President Jokowi Strongly Condemns Israeli Attack on Lebanon, Calls for Swift Action from UN

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Lebanon that has caused hundreds of casualties. In his statement to the media, President Jokowi called on the United Nations (UN) and other countries to immediately take swift action to prevent more victims.

“Indonesia strongly condemns Israel’s attack on Lebanon, and we invite all countries and the UN to provide a quick response to prevent more victims from Israeli attacks,” said President Jokowi after groundbreaking ceremony of Delonix Nusantara mixed-use area construction, Nusantara Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan province, on Wednesday, September 9, 2024.

The ongoing crisis in Lebanon has raised international concerns, including Indonesian government. The President emphasized that the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has prepared and coordinated evacuation steps for Indonesian citizens in Lebanon.

“I have contacted Minister for Foreign Affairs. It is still on process,” the President said, ensuring that the Government will immediately take action to protect Indonesian citizens in the conflict zone.
