Indonesia’s cultural diversity and vast territory are both challenges and strengths in building the country, President Prabowo Subianto has said.
“Indonesia—consisting of 17,000 islands and stretching over almost 2 million square kilometers—is home to more than 282 million people, a dynamic mosaic of cultures and traditions,” President Prabowo said in his remarks via video conference at the World Governments Summit 2025, Thursday (02/13).
Consequently, the Government is committed to ensuring that every citizen has equal access to education, health services, and economic opportunities.
“One of our main achievements in the first 100 days of my administration is the formation of a fully functioning Government based on talent and meritocracy. Many skilled Indonesians who have built their careers abroad have returned to serve the country,” he said.
According to the President, one of transformative initiatives in his administration is the free nutritious meals program that was launched in early January.
“When the program is officially rolled out in 330,000 schools—from remote villages to vibrant city centers—across the country, it becomes a significant investment for our future. The program is eyeing more than 85 million children and pregnant women,” he said, adding that the infrastructure sector remains a priority for the Government in order to connect people across the country and stimulate local economies.
Moreover, the Government has reallocated a 6 GHz Wi-Fi spectrum for public use and effectively doubled the internet capacity in Indonesia so that every citizen has an equal opportunity to participate in the digital economy as well as to learn, innovate, and achieve prosperity.
The Head of State went on to say that in a bid to achieve the economic growth target of 8 percent, the Government has managed to save more than US$20 billion, or around 10 percent of the State Budget. In addition, the Government will launch Danantara Indonesia to manage state assets of more than US$900 billion, which will be invested in sustainable projects, including renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and food production.
Concluding his remarks, President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for public support toward policies and initiatives of his administration. Trust and optimism in his administration become an inspiration to continue the efforts to achieve public welfare.
“With a shared vision and collective efforts, we can bring the nation forward toward a future defined by peace, justice, progress, and opportunity,” President Prabowo stated. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/ABD) (GWH/MMB)
