President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to implementing comprehensive improvement across all sectors, including environmental sanitation.

According to the President, Indonesia must act decisively to advance development and reforms from the village to urban centers.

“This includes maintaining cleanliness in every village, district, city, regent, provincial capital, and the national capital. I demand that these efforts be completed in the shortest possible time. We will deliver on this commitment,” said the President in his remarks at the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 event, at Wisma Danantara Indonesia, Jakarta, on Friday (02/13).

In his remarks, the Head of State also underscored the importance of addressing waste management in a systematic manner through the use of environmentally friendly technologies. The President also expressed appreciation to several educational institutions that have developed small-scale recycling and waste processing devices with eco-friendly designs.

“These devices are non-destructive, odor-free, and are suitable for small scale use. We hope such equipment can be made available in every village and district, so waste no longer needs to be transported far to landfills. Waste issues can then be resolved at the local level. We will begin implementing this initiative this year. For the large scale solutions, we must identify the most effective technologies available, and we have already begun this process,” said President.

In addition, the President also introduced the “ASRI” movement an acronym for Aman (safe), Sehat (healthy), Resik (clean), and Indah (beautiful).

“This initiative is already underway. I also hope we will continue implementing gentengisasi (roof tiling transformation) across all villages, districts, and major cities in Indonesia,” added President.

Meanwhile, in the era of national stability, the President emphasized the importance of upholding security and legal certainty as fundamental pillars of development.

The Head of State reaffirmed that Indonesia has consistently maintained a strong track record in honoring international agreements and fulfilling its financial obligations.

“We have established a strong track record. Throughout our history, Indonesia has never defaulted and has always honored the agreements made by the previous administrations. We remain open to investment and are confident that Indonesia will continue to soar with conviction,’ said the President.

Concluding his remarks, the President introduced a comprehensive strategy called “Indonesia Incorporated”, which emphasizes collaboration among all elements of the nation.

“A clean and just Government that uplifts the weakest and the poorest. Together, we will rise together, Insha Allah, Indonesia is no longer a sleeping giant, but a nation capable of standing tall and building a better life for its people,” he concluded.

The direction of national development is not solely centered on economic growth but also encompasses environmental transformation, modern urban governance, and national stability as the foundation for Indonesia’s sustainable future. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (TCUD/EP)
