President Prabowo Conveys Sincere Condolences, Instructs Quick Response to Bali, NTT Floods

President Prabowo Subianto conveyed sincere condolences to the victims of the Bali and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) floods. This message is delivered by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his written statement on Wednesday (10/09).

“President Prabowo conveyed sincere condolences [to the victims and families of the Bali and East Nusa Tenggara floods,” said Cabinet Secretary.

According to him, President Prabowo gave a quick response to the calamity. The President instructed the Head of National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) to fly to Bali to lead the emergency response and ensure that people’s basic needs are well-distributed.

“President Prabowo instructed the Head of BNPB and other related institutions to fly to Bali to lead the emergency response. The President also highlighted to ensure that people’s basic needs are well-distributed swiftly,” said Cabinet Secretary.

In response to the President’s directives, Cabinet Secretary explained that the Head of BNPB had departed for Bali to lead the emergency response. BNPB’s presence is expected to ensure that the search and rescue process, as well as the distribution of people’s basic needs, could be well conducted.

“The Head of BNPB had quickly departed for Bali this afternoon to lead the emergency response and to ensure that the search and rescue process, as well as the distribution of people’s basic needs, can be well conducted,” said Cabinet Secretary.

Cabinet Secretary also noted that BNPB had distributed rubber boats and motorboats, tents, food, mattresses, blankets, water pumps, emergency funds, and other related support needed by the affected people. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/LW)
