President Prabowo Subianto Awarded Brunei’s Highest Honor in Recognition of Strengthened Bilateral Ties

During his state visit to Brunei Darussalam, President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (05/14) was conferred the the Brunei Darussalam State Star of Greatness “Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati” (literally the Most Esteemed Family Order of Laila Utama) from Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at the Nurul Iman Palace, Bandar Seri Begawan.

This distinguished honor represents the highest accolade bestowed by the Sultanate of Brunei upon global leaders who have made significant contributions to fostering strong ties and advancing cooperation with Brunei Darussalam.

President Prabowo Subianto is the fourth Indonesian President to receive such esteemed decoration, following in the footsteps of President Soeharto (1988), President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (2006), and President Joko Widodo (2015).

With this recognition, President Prabowo Subianto joins the long list of world leaders honored with the Star of Greatness, first initiated by Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III on March 1, 1954.

The relationship between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam has been closely intertwined across various fields, including economic cooperation, education, defense, and socio-culture exchanges.

The President’s state visit to Brunei Darussalam marks a new chapter in further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries in the future.
