President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (09/24) attended a banquet hosted by Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney. The event took place at the Fred and Elizabeth Fountain Garden Court, 1st Floor, National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa.
The banquet was part of President Prabowo’s official visit to Canada, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Upon his arrival at the venue, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Carney. The reception was a gesture of respect as well as a symbol of the close bilateral ties between Indonesia and Canada.
Before the dinner, Prime Minister Carney invited President Prabowo to tour the National Gallery of Canada. On that occasion, Prime Minister Carney explained to President Prabowo several art collections, including works reflecting the country’s history and cultural identity.
The conversation unfolded in a warm atmosphere, with both leaders sharing perspectives on art, history, and cultural values, often accompanied by light-hearted jokes that reflected their closeness. The event became a moment to build stronger communication between the leaders beyond formal meetings.
Afterward, the two leaders proceeded to the banquet. The event was also attended by senior Canadian government officials as well as several prominent figures from various sectors. A warm and friendly atmosphere prevailed throughout the evening, reflecting the commitment of both countries to strengthening cooperation in various fields.
President Prabowo’s attendance at the banquet reaffirmed the two countries’ determination to build closer, mutually beneficial, and future-oriented relations.
