President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed that services provided by Pegadaian Gold Bank and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) are part of the Government’s strategic policies to strengthen national economic resilience, along with the policy on the storage of Foreign Exchange from Natural Resources (DHE SDA).

“The Government under my leadership has implemented several strategic policies as an effort towards economic self-sufficiency, in a bid to realize a secure, fair, prosperous, and strong Indonesia that stands on its own feet,” said President Prabowo when inaugurating the Pegadaian Gold Bank and BSI services at The Gade Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday (02/26).

He went on to say that the DHE SDA policy requires entities receiving state assets and credit from government banks to put their revenues in national banks. He expressed optimism that this policy can increase the country’s foreign exchange reserves by up to US$100 billion per year.

“With this measure, which takes effect on March 1, our export foreign exchange are estimated to increase by US$80 billion in 2025. Since the policy starts on March 1, within a year, the foreign exchange reserves will reach at least US$100 billion,” he stated.

In addition to the DHE SDA policy, President Prabowo also highlighted on the launching of Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara Indonesia), Indonesia’s new sovereign wealth fund, on February 24, 2025. With total assets exceeding US$900 billion, he stated that the fund will accelerate the downstream industrialization process, and potentially increasing economic added value by hundreds of times.

“With total assets of more than US$900 billion, we will be able to accelerate our industrial development and downstream industrialization. This will also increase the added value of our natural resources and production, multiplying it several times—by tens or even hundreds of times,” the President added.

Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of resource management that is smarter, more transparent and corruption-free. He firmly expressed belief that with strong determination, the country’s wealth can be well preserved.

“Of course, new, innovative, and breakthrough initiatives will raise questions. But with good intentions, strong determination, learning from past experiences, and the willingness to establish a clean government that is corruption-free, we are confident and believe that our wealth will be safeguarded because our wealth belongs to our children and grandchildren,” he remarked.
