President Prabowo Subianto Meets Former Thai Prime Ministers to Strengthen Friendship and Economic Cooperation

President Prabowo Subianto Thusday (/07/09) met with three former Thai prime ministers, Thaksin Shinawatra, Yingluck Shinawatra, and Paetongtarn Shinawatra. at the Danantara Building in Jakarta as part of his efforts to strengthen friendship networks and expand opportunities for international cooperation through dialogue with global leaders and prominent figures.

In his written statement after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the meeting unfolded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding close friendship that has existed between the two sides.

“President Prabowo Subianto met with three former Thai prime ministers, namely Thaksin Shinawatra (2001–2006), Yingluck Shinawatra (2011–2014), and Paetongtarn Shinawatra (2024–2025), at the Danantara Building in Jakarta. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere as a manifestation of the close friendship that has existed for a long time,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

The Cabinet Secretary added that Thaksin Shinawatra, who now serves as a member of the Danantara Advisory Board, shared his views and offered input during discussions with President Prabowo Subianto and the Danantara leadership.

“Thaksin Shinawatra, who currently serves as a member of the Danantara Advisory Board, provided input and exchanged ideas with President Prabowo and Danantara’s leadership on various opportunities to strengthen investment, asset management strategies, and national economic development focused on long‑term growth,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary stated that the Indonesian Government continues to strengthen its network of friendships with world leaders and prominent figures through close communication, while also promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences that are mutually beneficial.

“Through close communication with world leaders and figures, the Indonesian government continues to strengthen its network of friendships while creating space for the exchange of ideas and experiences as part of efforts to expand international cooperation and reinforce Indonesia’s position amid evolving global dynamics,” the Cabinet Secretary said.
